Sailing at RSYS
As one of Australia’s premier yacht clubs, the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron offers our Members and their guests a diverse sailing program.
As one of Australia’s oldest yacht club’s, RSYS has an extensive history of promoting and encouraging the sport of sailing. Some of the club’s notable achievements include leading the first three Australian America’s Cup challenges and the inaugural Australian Admirals’ Cup Challenge.
RSYS currently offers a year-round racing program that caters for sailors of all abilities and training opportunities for sailors interested in improving their skills.
RSYS Members and their guests enjoy a premier club racing experience with weekly twilight racing, One-Design series, Elliott 7s Series, and Club Championships.
RSYS is home to several major events including the Hardy Cup, Milson Silver Goblets, and Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta. The club also regularly host local and major international competitions.
RSYS offers a diverse cruising program of weekend raft-ups, coastal explorations, international adventures, supporting sailors of all levels. A highlight of the program is the Annual Cruise that has been running for over 50 years.
Join one of RSYS Sailing Academy’s courses and discover sailing on the beautiful Sydney Harbour. Open to Members and non-members, the Academy offers courses for sailors of all ages and experience levels.
The RSYS Sailing Academy squads offer sailors multiple opportunities to refine their racing skills in dinghies or keelboats. The squads are held year-round and open to Members and non-members.
