Winter Performance Camps Begin

This morning our RSYS Performance Camps kicked off, with an enthusiastic group of Optimist, Laser and Pacer sailors joining coaches on the rigging ground bright and early.

These camp programs are designed to allow sailors to develop their boat control in focused groups. This allows for coaches to provide tailored feedback to sailors based on their personal goals and strengthen individual regatta strategy.

A big group of keen Green Fleet sailors joined Coach Charlie. For our ‘Greenies’, this camp will focus on nailing the basics of boat handling. For some sailors, this is their first time sailing in a fibreglass optimist. Congratulations to those who have recently graduated into racing vessels!

Our Pacer sailors will be working with Coach Gretel this week to build and strengthen their teams racing skills, sail trim and maneouvres.

Finally, for the Laser Squad, this camp will focus on their learnings from the recent East Coast Championship at Georges River and preparations for upcoming regattas in Spring.

We wish our youth athletes a great week and hope to see more of this glamorous weather.
