What a glorious Opening Day!

The sun shone, flags fluttered, and the Club was a riot of colour as Members and their guests thronged on the hardstand to observe the water activities.

Sydney’s former VIP and Vice-regal steam yacht, Lady Hopetoun, generously provided by the Sydney Heritage Fleet, led the Parade of Sail. The fleet mustered at Athol Bay and proceeded towards the clubhouse.

Yachts were bedecked in bunting, crew dressed to the nines in a variety of smart attire or fancy dress.

Youth sailors were dressed in a Barbie (and Ken) theme with pink hats, T-shirts, ties, tutus, and boat ribbons.

As each boat passed, Lance Chappell and sundry volunteers fired the brass cannon in acknowledgment of their participation.

Commodore Christian Brook awarded prizes to the best dressed.
