Last Tuesday night sailors celebrated the end of the 2023-24 season and 20 years since Ladies Tuesday Twilight racing was introduced in 2004-05.

Ladies sailing and Tuesday nights at RSYS continues to grow both in offering and the number of boats sailing. An additional division was provided in the Ladies Non-spinnaker fleet, due to the increased number of entries. The series now has 4 divisions; Ladies Non-spinnaker Divisions 1 & 2, Open Non-spinnaker and Ladies One Design Spinnaker division.

The Carabella room and Neutral Bay Verandah were buzzing with 184 guests attending. There was definitely a buzz in the Club for the evening.

Inspiration Award, Moya Molloy

Rear Commodore Karyn Gojnich writes, 'Moya Molloy completed a LOTS Start Crewing & Start Helming course in 2018 & 2019. Moya well and truely embraced sailing and the Club.

The following season she signed up to race on Tuesdays on an Elliott with an instructor. She did this for two seasons and at the same time took opportunities to sail on different sized boats, do the RSYS  Winter series and Greenwich Wednesday afternoon racing. Moya took a team to Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club for their SheSails Development regatta.

Last winter Moya took the big step of purchasing a boat. She embraced this new direction completing a Diesel Maintenance course and researching how to splice ropes. Bravely she signed up for our Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta in 2023 with a whisperer joining her onboard. Moya even joined the recent Sydney Harbour Regatta, as bow, on a Farr East 28!! Moya has tackled everything that has been thrown at her.

Moya is inspirational, truely worthy of this award and I am looking forward to what she will do next.’
