Ladies' Tuesday Twilight Race - A Memorable Evening on Sydney Harbour

Snez Tobin on the helm

Snez Tobin writes, ‘On Tuesday 19 November, I had the privilege of helming the beautiful “Whistling Kite” in this week’s Ladies’ Tuesday Twilight Race on Sydney Harbour, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity. My team was absolutely fantastic. Each member brought their own expertise and enthusiasm, making it a rewarding race where we came equal 2nd.

Exciting start with Andiamo! and Kookaburra

The conditions were perfect for an evening on the water; a light breeze and a shortened course that provided a pleasant but challenging sailing experience. We had to adjust quickly, working together as a cohesive unit to make the most of every gust of wind. Although the breeze was light, it kept us on our toes, requiring skillful coordination and strategy throughout the race.

A special thank you to Nicola and Kym, the boat owners, for entrusting me with the helm. It was an incredible experience to lead such a capable and dedicated team, with a special mention to our boat whisperer, Dinah. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and look forward to more adventures on the water with this amazing crew.’
