Jack Ferguson Achieves Outstanding Results in Moth UK Open

RSYS Member Jack Ferguson has been exceptionally busy with his Moth Sailing campaign. Last week he competed in the Moth UK Open in Weymouth from 7 – 9 June and is now competing in the Moth World Championship.

He commented, "With 91 entries and most of the 120+ fleet present, the UK Open Championship was the last opportunity to practice my race craft, dial in the boat and prepare for Moth Worlds."

"We had a perfect 12-16 knots for the first day of racing. I managed four consistent races and improved throughout the day. Day 2 was much lighter, with many boats on and off the foils around the track. In race 1, I managed a decent result, but after a breakage, I returned to shore and missed race 2."

"Luckily, the other fleet only completed one race, so our race 2 was thrown out."

"I finished in 8th overall, a result I was proud of and has given me a good confidence boost going into the Worlds."

Jack is now entering day 3 of the World Championship after Day 1 and Day 2 were postponed due to light weather. We hope the wind will kick in soon.

Good luck, Jack!
