AI Speaker Dinner Bookings Open

Are AI chatbots about to eat the world? Bookings are now open for our special speaker event on Wednesday, 7 June.

Join us in the Carabella Room to learn everything you were afraid to ask about Artificial Intelligence chatbots, explained using terms anyone will understand.

This will be an exciting Club dinner with a panel of experts who will explain the creative ability of Artificial Intelligence and what it might do to our lives and those of our children & grandchildren.

This speaker event will include an interactive session with live audience participation – talk to a chatbot from the safety of your Squadron dinner table!

Our AI Panel MC, Gary Aitchison

Gary Aitchison studied at the University of Sydney and the London School of Economics and Political Science. B.Eng Electronics, M.Sc Economics and B.Sc Mathematics, Physics

He is the CEO of Visionary Machines.
 
Our Legal Expert, Professor Lyria Bennett Moses


Director of the Allens Hub for Technology, Law and Innovation and a Professor and Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Law and Justice at UNSW Sydney. She is also co-lead of the Law and Policy theme in the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre and Faculty lead in the UNSW Institute for Cyber Security.

Her research explores issues between technology and law, including the types of legal issues that arise as technology changes and the problems of treating “technology” as an object of regulation.

Our Computing Expert, Professor Toby Walsh


Scientia Professor of AI at UNSW Sydney and CSIRO Data61, and adjunct professor at QUT
Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, the Association for Computing Machinery, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, the European Association for Artificial Intelligence and the Royal Society of NSW.
He is a strong advocate for limits to ensure AI is used to improve our lives, and has spoken on the topic to the UN, heads of state, parliamentary bodies, and company boards. Toby is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and appeared on the international “Who’s Who in AI” list of influencers. He has authored three books on AI for a general audience, the most recent entitled “Machines Behaving Badly: the morality of AI”.
 
Our Educational Expert, Principal Anna Dickinson


Anna Dickinson has served Catholic education for the past 42 years and is currently the Principal of Loreto Kirribilli, having served as a Principal in two other Catholic Schools, as Director of System Performance in the Parramatta Diocese and Regional Consultant in the Sydney Archdiocese. Anna serves on several boards and committees. She is a member of the AIS Advisory Council and serves on the Independent Girls’ School Association (IGSA) Board.
Anna was previously Chair of the AISNSW Independent Schools Teacher Accreditation Authority (ISTAA) and served as a Director on the Sydney Archdiocesan Catholic Schools Board (SACS).
Anna has been honoured by receiving the International Women’s Day Award for significant contribution to School Leadership in the Archdiocese of Sydney and the Australian College of Educators (ACE) ‘Alan Laughlin Perpetual Award” for outstanding leadership within the Sydney Catholic Archdiocese for leading change to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
