Tackers Discover Sailing
Tackers' is an Australian Sailing national program for kids between the ages of 7-12 It is aimed at introducing children to sailing in a fun and safe way within a three-level format. All courses are conducted by fully qualified Australian Sailing Instructors & Assistant Instructors and RSYS is an accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Overview
Sunday Tackers is an 8-week course running for two and a half hours each Sunday during school terms.
Tackers Holiday Camps are run over several consecutive days throughout the school holidays. During these camps sailors will have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends and explore Sydney Harbour from one of the Club's Poly Optimists.
Tackers 1 is designed for kids with little to no sailing experience. They will learn the basics of sailing through practical and fun activities
Tackers 2 is for those who have successfully completed Tackers 1. Kids will continue to build their skills and on-water confidence.
Tackers 3 is the final tackers level. Sailors will develop advanced sailing skills, preparing them to move into Racing.
